Mrs. Gladye Metts Fudge, 98, retired clerk at Finger's Ice Cream Parlor, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital North MS. The funeral service will be Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Waller Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry East officiating. Burial will follow at Yellow Leaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, December 11, 2009 from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Waller Funeral Home and also from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M prior to the service Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Waller Funeral Home. Born in Lafayette County, Mrs. Fudge was the widow of Mr. Euphus Fudge. She was a member of Yellow Leaf Baptist Church where she was very active, serving as a Sunday School Teacher and as the church secretary. Mrs. Fudge was a member of the first graduating class of University High School and enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her brother, Floyd Metts of Oxford and a host of nieces and nephews. The family has asked that expressions of sympathy or memorial contributions in Mrs. Fudge's memory be made to Yellow Leaf Cemetery Fund, c/o Wade Conner, 470 Hwy 334, Oxford, MS 38655.
