Biography
Mrs. Amanda Sue Enlow Spence, 68, retired LPN with Sunshine Nursing Home, died Thursday, July 19, 2012 at her home in Abbeville. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Gregory Davis officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the church. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Oxford, MS, Mrs. Spence was a member of Faith Baptist Church. In addition to her faith in God, she also believed in cooking. The youngest of eleven children, her home became the gathering place for family meals after the death of her mother. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family and was especially skilled at cooking Southern comfort food.
Survivors include her husband, John Leslie Spence of Abbeville, MS; three daughters, Layne Spence, Lesley Spence and Mindy Ladner and her husband, Kel all of Oxford, MS; three sisters, Irene Simpson of Independence, MS, Sybil Marks of Florence, AL and Laverne Todd of Oneonta, AL and two brothers, James Enlow of Lewisburg, MS and Billy Enlow of Big Sandy, TN.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Spence’s memory may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 563 Hwy 7 North, Oxford, MS 38655.
