Biography

Mrs. Eva Head Johnson, 101, retired secretary for Navy ROTC for 25 years at the University of Mississippi, died Friday, June 15, 2012 at her home in Oxford. Funeral services will be Sunday, June 17, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Minister Johnny Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:30 until 2:00.

Born on December 1, 1910, Mrs. Johnson was the widow of Mr. Willie A. Johnson and was a member of Oxford Church of Christ. She was employed for periods of time with Baker Dress shop in Oxford, Army Administration School at the University of Mississippi, Fisher Aircraft in Memphis, TN, and Chickasaw Ordinance Smokeless Powder Plant in Millington, TN. She was a homemaker and enjoyed all kinds of sewing, flowers and vegetable gardening. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, husband, step-daughter and step-son.

Survivors include four step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.
