Mr. Richard Riki Matsufuji, 49, died Friday, June 15, 2012 at home in Oxford, MS. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Mr. Matsufuji was born in Los Angeles, CA to Riki and Reba Matsufuji. Richard had worked as the Kennel Manager for Crossroads Animal Hospital and volunteered at the Oxford-Lafayette Humane Society. He was a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism and Oxford-University United Methodist Church. He dedicated his Life to working with and caring for animals. Richard showed much grace and dignity throughout his battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Riki Matsufuji.
Survivors include his mother, Reba Matsufuji of Oxford, MS; three sisters, Pamela Ann Matsufuji of Tustin, CA, Cynthia Fay Galante and her husband, David, of Olive Branch, MS and Mary Matsufuji Johnson of Oxford, MS; close friend, Karin King Mixon of Oxford, MS; and five nieces and nephews.
