Biography

Mr. John R. “Daddy Bill” Drewrey, 73, retired diesel mechanic from Meadow Gold Dairies in Huntsville, AL, died Friday, June 8, 2012 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Funeral services will be Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Bro. Vance Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in Bluff Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Born in Denmark, MS, Mr. Drewrey was a member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Oxford and Monrovia Young Men’s Club in Huntsville, AL. He was an avid storyteller and enjoyed being outdoors, cutting his grass, tending to his horses, and bush hogging. He loved watching sports and following the Boston Celtics and especially loved watching his grandchildren’s softball games.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Drewrey of Oxford, MS; one daughter, Christy Glass and her husband, Bart of Oxford, MS; two sons, David Drewrey and his wife, Becky of Oxford, MS and Kenneth Drewrey and his wife, Whitney of Oxford, MS; one brother, Leon Drewrey of Oxford, MS; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
